Quilter’s Accountability Report – July 20, 2011

Well, here we go! It is another busy, scorching week in the Ozarks, so let’s see what I have accomplished!

Last week’s goals –

  1. Finish customer quilt – DONE
  2. Load another customer quilt – Ready to load
  3. Work on Mini-me’s quilt – worked on
  4. Get ready for the longarm meeting on Saturday – Done

Not too bad considering everything. I finished up my customer quilt, but don’t have pictures yet so those will have to wait. The next quilt is ready to go on the machine. I even worked on Mini-me’s quilt some. I printed out paper piecing templates from EQ7 for piecing the teeth that make up part of his quilt. I had three different sizes of teeth, now just need to pick out the fabric. You don’t happen to have any ivory colored fabric with tartar stains for T-Rex teeth lying around do you?  🙂

The longarm meeting went well on Saturday. Here are the two choices we came up with for the 2012 challenge quilts:

This is Option 1 and is made up of Hoffman batiks, including the black. This was the top I whipped up as you can guess from my sneak peek last week.

This top is Option 2 and is made up of Christmas fabrics.  Group members can choose to make one or both for display in the 2012 Ozark Piecemaker’s Quilt Show in September. Everyone seemed pleased with the choices and the different shape. I think we were all getting tired of the 40″ square…..

This week’s goals –

  1. Work on customer quilt
  2. Keep working on Mini-me’s quilt

That will be enough as this week is already full of stuff to do and there will be no quilting for most of it.

How are you doing on your goals? Is life getting in the way of quilting? Not that it is always a bad thing when that happens….LOL. Join in and let us cheer you on!

I won’t be able to check in with you until later in the week. Keep on keeping on!

  2. As always you are a busy woman! For the teeth, try tea dying a swatch of ivory or even muslin. If you wrap it in rubber bands first, it’ll help give it that tie-dyed look and then you can fussy cut the teeth pieces to get just the right look. Sounds like a fun quilt!
