Quilter’s Accountability Report – August 24, 2011

Woo hoo! School has started and it is wonderful! Of course, Mini-me and Munchie have only been in school for four actual days, so I haven’t gotten much done yet. I also still haven’t gotten my schedule worked out….I haven’t been able to work out this week or last week so am really missing that. Hopefully this week things will level out.

Last week’s goals –

  1. Finish customer quilt – done!
  2. Make several Marine stockings for our guild meeting next Tuesday – done!
  3. Ponder on the dinosaur teeth again… – ummm, not done
  4. Load next customer quilt –  loaded and working on it

Here is the quilt I was working on last week. This is a single Irish Chain made by Mary V. Really pretty quilt and she does such nice piecing. She wanted an all-over on it.

A close up of the quilting…

Here are the four Marine stockings that I finished up at the last minute Tuesday afternoon.

The guild total turned in more than 400 of these yesterday. Our goal is 1000…..I had trouble finding Christmas fabric as I donated 7 yards of Christmas fabric to the guild to make kits for the stockings last month.

I also still have the dinosaur teeth up on my design wall and just haven’t had time to mess with them yet.

I have the next customer quilt on the machine and almost have all the SID done. It is a wall-hanging, so hopefully will not take long!

This week’s goals –

  1. Finish customer quilt on the machine
  2. Work on those messy dinosaur teeth again….
  3. Start piecing borders for my QOV..if I can find the box with the fabric in it!

That will be enough as I have another customer quilt ready to put on the machine as soon as this one is done.

Here is a picture of my unfinished QOV that I hung up on my design wall last week to remind myself that I have it.

This is one of Alycia’s free patterns, but when I went to her site to link to the direct pattern I couldn’t find it. Good thing I have the pattern printed out…..somewhere. I think it might be in the box with the leftover fabric….if I can find it….wait, that is one of my goals!

  1. I have a question. Was there a purpose on the red Irish chain quilt that she put just a couple orange and blue squares in the mix? Also, what is the name of the E2E did you use. It looks lovely. Thx. Dar

  2. You’re getting so much done! Unlike me . . . I haven’t even posted a report. At this point, I’m just going to wait until next week . . . I’m off to bake a pie. Seems like I’ve been doing everything BUT quilting!
